Tips and Tools for Professional WordPress Website Development

Professional Wordpress Website Development

We see more and more around us that internet agencies choose WordPress as the standard CMS to build websites. We also regularly encounter starting freelancers who focus fully on WordPress. In this article we have made an overview of the best tools, techniques and plugins for the development of WordPress websites that we have mastered over the years – and which we would have liked to receive on a serving tray when we were first started working with WordPress.

WordPress development tools

Over the years we have tested, used and thrown away a lot of development tools. Which are we still using today for the development of WordPress websites?

Google Chrome

Google Chrome has included a powerful set of development tools. You can do CSS adjustments from the element inspector, so you can immediately see what the effect is before you make the adjustments in your css file. In addition, you can read existing JavaScript variables from the console or run new scripts. You can request stored cookies, check in the headers whether your page is being cached, and more. Mozilla Firefox is also a good alternative and offers many similar functions.

Sublime / Coda

Everyone has their own favorite text editor, but two of us stand out: Sublime and Coda. An important advantage of Sublime (Windows / Mac) is that it is very extensible, while Coda (Mac) is already nicely complete. With both editors, for example, it is possible to change files directly on the server. That makes doing a small quick adjustment very easy.

FileZilla

Perhaps obvious, maybe not at all. We use FileZilla every day to quickly and securely connect to the servers of our customers. Easy to use and ideal for a quick small adjustment.

Browser stack

With Browserstack we can virtually try a website on every imaginable device. Think of all desktop browsers on multiple Windows and OSX versions, but also all known Android devices, iOS devices and tablets. This is ideal for responsive tests, as simulations for mobile devices in desktop browsers quickly fail in the details. Browserstack also offers a Chrome extension, which allows you to simulate any web page you visit directly on another platform.

Ghost Inspector

With this amazing Chrome extension, you can record a number of steps on your website (eg: “visit the homepage, click on ‘contact’, scroll down, fill out form”). The actions in these recordings are then regularly performed by Ghost Inspector. If there are deviating events (eg a page is missing, or the layout is different), you will be notified of this.

Photoshop

Although you can do a lot with WordPress yourself, Adobe Photoshop remains indispensable in our work. This is the favorite software package from everyone who deals with design with us.

Standard plugins

Although every website is different, there are a few plugins that we use again for each project. That is why we install them as standard with a new project. If we do not eventually use them, they can always leave:

Avia Framework

This visual block builder is not available separately as a plugin but is built into the Enfold theme. Very user-friendly, and offers the possibility to quickly build up content.

Gravity Forms

The most comprehensive forms plugin we know, with conditional logic, import/export function, various notifications, etc .. Many themes also take into account the styling for this plugin.

Kraken.io

Make sure you have this plugin before you upload the first images. That way you keep everything optimized.

Akismet

Reduce the spam on your WordPress website. Actually just a must-have.

Yoast SEO

Helps you to globally align your SEO settings, and to easily make changes to eg the title and meta-description per page.

Development plugins

There are also a lot of plugins for WordPress that facilitate the development of your website. The most commonly used plugins can be found below.

Password protected

Protect your website with a password to prevent search engines and unwanted visitors from taking a look while the website is not ready yet.

Debug Bar

Do you really have to dig deeper into the code? The debug bar adds a button to your admin bar with which you can read various server variables, warnings, errors, queries, and requests. With the Actions and Filters Addon, it is also possible to see which hooks are all triggered on a page.

Query monitor

This plugin offers much of the functionality that the Debug Bar also offers, but also gives the possibility to search queries in a very targeted way, for example per plugin or query type, but also slow execution.

Custom Post Types UI

With this plugin you can easily create extra custom post types. By default, WordPress already offers messages and pages, but you may need an extra mail type, for example ‘books’ for a library. If you have set the post type, this plugin must remain activated. In order to keep the number of plugins (and therefore the performance pressure) low, we therefore prefer to add post types via GenerateWP (see also below under ‘ Cheatsheets ‘).

Advanced Custom Fields

By default you have a reasonably limited number of fields at your disposal in a message, page, or custom post. Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) adds all kinds of extra possible fields here; date pickers, color pickers, taxonomy links, extra image fields, and so on. Moreover, ACF works very visually and intuitively; This way you can even prepare very complicated custom post constructions without using a line of code. The content input can therefore start very quickly. To use and display all custom fields on a page, you can use shortcodes, or modify the templates.

FacetWP

With this plugin you can create different filters that extend the search of messages, pages and custom posts. For example, your visitor can not only enter keywords in a search field, but also click taxonomies (categories or tags) in a drop-down or selection box to specify the search result more. Very interesting for larger databases with eg a thousand articles. FacetWP is – just like ACF – both with shortcodes and with templates to get to work.

SearchWP

searchwp Do you prefer to improve the standard search function in WordPress? Then SearchWP is our favorite plugin. This plugin indexes entire WordPress so that the results can be displayed faster. You can set this index according to your preferences. Choose, for example, which post types should and should not be searched, which fields in a post are important or irrelevant, or which should also be searched for words that partly correspond, and much more.

P3 Profiler

Does your website get slower and slower? Measure with the P3 profiler which plugins have the most impact on your loading time. Sometimes it helps to remove a few plugins, so your website is already faster. Another solution is to opt for ultra-fast Premium WordPress hosting.

Broken link checker

When you go live, check whether all the links on your website still work. Do you miss anything, are all external pages still accessible? You will receive an e-mail if a link no longer works. Optionally, you can even have the check carried out regularly.

Redirection

Do you replace an old website with go live? The previous website has also built value in the search engines. To keep this value as much as possible, you can redirect all URLs from the old website to the corresponding pages on the new website. This costs a lot of work, but it is worth it. You can use the Redirection plugin, but in some cases also a .htaccess file. Sometimes you can redirect multiple pages with one redirection line by means of regular expressions (see also below under ‘ Cheatsheets ‘.)

Accessibility For WordPress websites

Guidelines for editing In addition to technical adjustments, the WCAG 2.0 guidelines also contain a lot of instructions for content and therefore for the editors. Consider, for example, the way in which your pages are written (clear language), but also how you link in your texts to other pages (not 'click here', but a clear description). In addition, use the same menu layout and header on each page and avoid automatically playing content and animations. Also when embedding external content (movies, news feeds, etc.) you have to be careful that this content also complies with the guidelines. In addition, images must be provided with tags that describe the image. Fortunately, the Dutch Government has drawn up a simple explanation of the accessibility requirements for editors: it is highly recommended to go through it as a content employee! Accessibility declaration An important requirement for (semi-) government websites to comply with the new accessibility requirements is to publish an accessibility statement on your website. This is a separate page on your website where you explain that your website has been made accessible according to the guidelines and how you have achieved this. For the drafting of such a statement you can use the step-by-step plan of accessibility statement . Websites of the (semi-) government published after September 23, 2018, must comply with the new guidelines for accessible websites. This also applies to WordPress websites. The guidelines are laid down in the standards EN301549 and WCAG 2.0. From September 23, 2020, this legal obligation applies even to all websites of the (semi-) government. In this article, we explain what you should look out for to make your WordPress website comply with these new accessibility guidelines.

What exactly is EN301549 and WCAG 2.0 for WordPress?
People with a disability are often also limited in the use of digital techniques and media. A color blind person can not see in a webshop with color picker which color to choose. A deaf person can not hear the sound of a video. A blind person is dependent on a speech computer that cannot ‘read out’ what a picture looks like. Visually impaired people often struggle with too little contrast and people with an increased chance of a chance cannot handle flashing animations and movements. There are numerous examples.

To ensure digital accessibility for people with a disability, European guidelines have been laid down under number EN301549. These guidelines describe the accessibility of all kinds of ICT applications subdivided into different chapters on hardware, software, mobile apps, audio/video, documents, and of course websites. The chapter on websites corresponds to the international web accessibility guidelines known as WCAG 2.0 (WCAG stands for Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). And it is, therefore, the guidelines of WCAG 2.0 that also apply to (WordPress) websites.

WCAG 2.0 level A, AA or AAA for WordPress?

WCAG 2.0 has been drawn up as one package of guidelines, but divided into three levels: Level A, Level AA and Level AAA. Level A is the easiest to implement, AA is already more complicated, and AAA is quite complex. In addition, there is also WCAG version 2.1. But what level and which version do you actually have to comply with? The government has stipulated that WCAG 2.0 Level AA is required to comply with the legal requirement.

How does your WordPress website meet WCAG 2.0, level AA?

Let’s start with the good news: WordPress offers as a CMS a very solid foundation for your website to comply with WCAG 2.0. For example, the media library is provided with the option to provide the required image descriptions as standard and a WordPress menu is generated in the correct way by default. However, the theme and plugins that you have run on your WordPress website can throw a spanner in the works. Not every theme and plug-in builder follows the WCAG guidelines. A critical look at the themes and techniques used is therefore important.

Guidelines for editing

In addition to technical adjustments, the WCAG 2.0 guidelines also contain a lot of instructions for content and therefore for the editors. Is Natural Light Photography Better Than Flash Photography?

Is Natural Light Photography Better Than Flash Photography

Photography is all about capturing subjects in a certain light.  That light will help to evoke an emotion in order to tell a story.  In Greek, photography means ‘painting with light’ so it is very important to understand the role that it plays in your picture taking.  There are many photographers out there who are very strongly opinionated as to whether natural light photography or flash photography is better.  There are definitely pros and cons to both techniques, and I have the answer on which will yield the best photos!  Before we get to the truth let’s discuss what natural light and flashlight photography is.

Is Natural Light Photography Better Than Flash Photography

Natural Light Photography is pretty self-explanatory.  It is using natural light to enhance your images given off from the sun.  Natural light, also known as existing light is preferred due to the natural feel the images were taken.  This light could be a hard light directly from the sun on a bright day, a soft light on a cloudy or overcast day, or even dramatic light in the event of a storm or intense weather.  Natural light does not cost money, but it does cost time.  You can find amazing natural light anywhere, but anytime?  That’s another question.  Often times the best moments to catch good natural light is either right before sunset or right after sunrise or in a rare case of a thunderstorm- limiting the times you can shoot.   It is also necessary to make sure you have a camera with a fast lens to ensure a sharp image.  Natural light photography is preferred by many, and while they do yield beautiful results- there are still some who are avid flash photographers.

Flash Photography is using an artificial light to help brighten or improve a subject or setting.  Flashlight can yield harsh shadows and give an image an overexposed look. Many flash photographers will use a flash diffuser to help decrease the strength of the flash- which helps create a softer look.  There are certain settings in which it is highly recommended to leave the flash off including indoors or in low light.  On the other hand, there are times when it can be ironically helpful, such as indirect light, as it can help balance the brightness by showing more detail in the shadows.  While flash photography can cause redeye, it can also be very helpful in highlighting your subject.  Knowing how to use flash photography can greatly improve your picture taking.

Let’s See An Example!  I have showcased two family photos.  One was taken with a flash.  The other with natural light.  Which one looks superior

I may be biased since it’s my adorable family in the pictures, but I think it can be agreed that they both look fantastic.  If you couldn’t guess, the railroad photo was taken with a flash, while the beach photo was taken in natural light at about 5:30 in the morning.  That didn’t go over so well with the kiddos.  In any case- let’s get down to the nitty-gritty.  Is Natural Light Photography better than Flash Photography?

The Verdict- Neither technique is overwhelmingly better than the other.  They both have cons, and they both require education and knowledge to be utilized in the best way possible.  It depends on the setting, the photographers’ preference, time of day, etc.  Overall, if you use the light of your choice correctly, you will turn out fantastic images.

How To Successfully Attract Customers

Successfully Attract Customers

To attract more customers you will have to think of various ways to present your business in better light and to show that you are indeed a worthy one. On the other hand, you will have to look into how you can implement newer methods of engaging with your customers so that you can convince them to conduct business with you. Furthermore, you need to focus on getting feedback and learning what your customers want and need.

Successfully Attract Customers

Create an Engaging Website

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past some years, it would be unacceptable not to have a website up and running. Moreover, you need to post only content and data that will be interesting so that your customers can keep on clicking your website’s links. Though, be sure to update your website frequently, otherwise you might lose customers fast for a simple but fixable reason.

Make Sure To Use Colors on Your Brand the Right Way

Depending on what kind of logo you are using, you could be unintentionally telling people to get away from your business. Luckily, you can quickly fix that if you pay attention to the colors used, and by combining a few of them to attract even more customers. Though do not forget that it will not be enough, rather, it will be a way to alert your customers to look your business’ way. And you will have to dazzle them with content and good business etiquette.

Pay Attention to What Your Customers Are Saying

It is not enough to just assume what you think your customers want, you will have to find it out the hard way, by asking them directly. Though, you need to be cautious on how you go about it, because if you are blunt, it will seem a bit odd, and most probably customers will not take it lightly. Instead, you have to get creative to get reviews on your business, and that you can use the gathered information to improve your company.

Holding Events Is Fundamental

Without holding or attending regular events, you cannot hope to reach a large audience because many would not have the chance to hear from you. But, you need to be subtle about it, and not to make a big ruckus, otherwise, it will seem like you are trying too hard. You need to keep your customers informed. And you need to stay consistent at such events so that you can present your business in the best possible light.

Make Your Company Stand Out

Being different from other companies is mandatory, and without question you have to do everything you can to make it happen. One of the most interesting ways to go about it is to use Point of Sale Displays from Genesis in front of your company’s building and around town. Because that way you will be able to show potential customers what your business offers and how it will help them. And, you might even reach more people than you initially hoped for.

Be In Touch With Social Media

Without being present on the Internet, it is hard to make sure that people can contact you and get engaged with your business. But, more importantly, you will have to make sure that you are present on some social media platforms. Because potential customers pay attention to what they can find on the Internet, and it will greatly influence your chances of getting more people to like your business. On the other hand, it will be a good tool to interact with your customers, and to let them know about some information fast and accurately.

Do not be afraid to take risks with attracting more people to your business, but, you will have to make sure that it will not hurt your image in anyway. On the other hand, you have to ensure that you can engage with so many people, because it will see to them that they might not be appreciated. Moreover, you have to stay in touch with them as long as they are part of your business, which means that you have to pay attention to their needs and demands.

5 Common Success-Stompers When Starting A Multi Level Marketing Business

Common Success-Stompers

An explosive opportunity for growth, which can give you mind-boggling results, the Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is not something to be taken lightly. Mistakes and potential growth stoppers are sometimes obvious, and at other times quite unpredictable. Luckily, however, we’ve come up with a list of 5 common MLM mistakes to keep an eye on. If you’re not making a fortune with regards to this business, you’re probably making at least one of these nasty little roadblocks.

Common Success-Stompers

  • Relying on template websites – Having a webpage is no longer a thing of luxury and ambition, but rather a necessity if you want to be taken seriously, especially when it comes to the business of Multi-Level Marketing. There’s a reason for the “if you’re not on Google, you do not exist” saying – while having social media pages certainly is beneficial, no one takes a company without a proper website seriously. However, a plethora of template web pages out there is making it very difficult for businesses and firms to stand out. This is a major mistake when it comes to Multi-Level Marketing – if you are doing this, you are doing that which the majority of networks are doing. Instead of opting for this easy way out of internet drag, perhaps learn how to make your own website, or at least outsource.
  • Being a conformist – Instead of following the herd, try doing your own thing. This is not to say, however, that you should remain oblivious to what your peers are up to. On the contrary, you should find out and keep track of what your competition is up to and do the exact opposite. If this doesn’t bring legitimate success before you, you’ll get to stand out from the bunch, at the very least – and this is something you should definitely strive for, regardless of whether you’re in the Multi-Level Marketing business or any other type of business out there.
  • Choosing all the wrong business partners – Finding a person that fits you completely as a professional is just as difficult as it sounds, especially when your business is still in bloom. A perfect way out of this is to take heed of all the advice your mentor gives you. The ability to target all the right people is taught, not something one is born with. Instead of working harder, do your best to work smarter,
  • Do not ebb away from training – When you hear stories about the rock stars of the business world, you never get the insight into their full professional stories (unless they’re your mentor). Instead, you’ll probably hear about how they’ve made it all by themselves, relying on the blessing of their natural-born instinct and talent. What they’ll almost always fail to mention, however, is the fact that they’ve all gone through a form of a training – whether it’s an online course or a trial by fire. The best way to avoid common, yet potentially tragic mistakes is by opting for network marketing training. Even though learning from mistakes by letting your first business crash and burn might be the best way to get to know how things are done, learning from professionals is definitely a steadier and better way to go.
  • Disregarding the follow-up – Most network marketers out there don’t follow up more than 3 or 4 times, and sometimes, even this is an exaggeration. At the first sight of resistance, they choose to give up, rather than fight through the troubles by doing follow-ups. While this is not necessarily a disastrous mistake, it can turn out to be quite an expensive one. What most network marketers are unaware of, is the fact that follow-ups can double your sales, if done properly.

These are just 5 of the myriad of common Multi-Level Marketing business mistakes out there. In order to avoid most of them, you need to focus, listen to useful advice and pay attention to what your peers are doing.

Education Needed To Work In Marketing

Education Needed To Work In Marketing

If you are interested in working in marketing or if you just need to understand marketing better, it can help to learn what industry demands are for education in this field. Knowing what education is needed can help you to plan your own education or can enable you to figure some classes you can take to boost your marketing knowledge.

Education Needed To Work In Marketing

Bachelor’s Degree

For any entry-level position, a person needs at least a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field. Bachelor’s programs typically cover a range of topics that will help a person in the field. These might include quantitative analysis, marketing strategies, consumer behavior, and digital marketing methods. Students get a rounded education that also includes basic courses in communications, history, and math, which are all helpful in a future career. Students may complete their education in an online program, like the one from MVU Online, or on campus.

Advanced Education

Students may wish to earn a master’s degree, which can often give them a leg up on the competition. These programs also usually include a practical portion where a student can work as an intern in a real-world environment. The skills and knowledge learned during an internship are incredibly valuable. You can’t get this from just a classroom. In addition, it can be used as experience on a resume, which always looks nice to employers.

Even after you have already been employed, you can go back to school for an advanced degree. This can often open doors for promotions and allow for career advancement. It can help to learn more about career opportunities in order to know what level of education you’ll need.

Courses

If you aren’t in school, you might want to consider taking courses in marketing or specific areas of marketing to help you reach your business goals. Any education in marketing can be valuable when you are trying to market a business. The marketing skills you learn will enable you to create better campaigns and teach you about topics you may otherwise not have known about that can improve your marketing abilities.

Experience

Beyond getting a degree or even completing an internship, you also will need to gain experience in the field. This can take time to do. You need to build up your skill set and exposure to the industry. Only through working in the field will you be able to learn all the ins and outs. You’ll pick up tricks of the trade and discover trends and how they influence the industry. You’ll also gain valuable experience in creating campaigns and possibly leading teams. Usually, it is experience that will help you to further your career the best.

After looking over the education requirements to enter the field of marketing, you can begin making your decisions on what you want to do. It helps to start out with a solid career plan so you can enter the right degree program and make the proper choices. Keep in mind, though, that you’ll have to work your way up through this industry. It is usually experience that will help you to advance more than education, but getting an advanced degree can offer you a boost.

Top 5 WordPress Plugins for Affiliate Websites

Wordpress Plugins for Affiliate Websites

WordPress websites are the most popular used online with around 17% of all new websites developed in this framework. The amazing flexibility and optionality makes WordPress the best to use for most website types except e-commerce in which it is still limited in functionality.

As an owner of several affiliate websites I have come to understand the full necessity of certain functions. Without both WordPress and certain plugins my websites would not work as effective as they do now.  The following plugins for WordPress are in my experienced opinion excellent for an Affiliate Marketer.

Wordpress Plugins for Affiliate Websites

  1. Simple URLs

As web users are becoming savvier on how the Internet works, they are now more skeptical than ever about where they click on websites. Whilst several years ago having a link with the full address being shown on your site was not a problem, now users are avoiding strange looking URLs.

This plugin allows for Affiliate Marketers to create ‘friendly’ URLs and have them redirected to the exact affiliate link you want. This also allows you to track the exact clicks and change the links as and when you please.

  1. Advanced Custom Fields

In order to create posts that can be used for Affiliate feeds then this plugin extends the complete functionality of WordPress. By having custom fields in all posts this allows you to have unique posts based on these fields? With this plugin Affiliates can have posts/products and have all differentiating data about the product stored in separate fields, which can then be used for post layout.  This plugin truly takes an affiliate website to the next level as the options are endless and truly recommended.

  1. CSV to WP

Another excellent plugin that probably saves most time for my website Ticket Yoda, I am able to upload 1000 new events within minutes from affiliate feeds I download. This plugin also works well with Advanced Custom Fields and can upload complete data for all events without delay. This plugin works by uploading a CSV file in which each separate row is classed as a new individual post.  Other excellent options are that you can set the format of all posts including exact SEO information such as title tag and meta-description.

  1. CSV 2 DB

This plugin allows data from CSV files to be uploaded and inserted into the database table you select. With this I am able to upload 5000 different prices related to events within seconds. This plugin allows the storage of any information you require to pull from the database and show on the website. A simple plugin but one which allows webmasters to upload large quantities of information to a database quickly.

  1.  All in one SEO

In order to gain traffic and revenue probably the most important method is gaining high rankings on search engines. As WordPress is not initially set up for SEO purposes a plugin is needed and this works perfectly for my sites.  All title tags can be optimized based on certain fields and keywords and meta- descriptions added to each and every post.

My website Ticket Yoda, for example, contains over 2000 unique pages and a major influence of this is that each title and meta-description is unique. The plugin also allows for default SEO titles for category pages, therefore making all areas of the website completely unique.

Whilst the above plugins can be used for websites not necessarily affiliate sites they work perfectly well for this purpose. All plugins can be found by searching the WordPress plugin directory and installed within minutes. I would love to know your thoughts and if you are able to advise on other plugins that can help affiliates gain traffic and sales then please let us know.

Search Engine Marketing and Optimization

Search Engine Marketing and Optimization

As a consultancy firm from Amsterdam we work a lot for companies in the Netherlands Especially SMEs and SMEs often have a website and usually not the time and money to hire one or more specialists. For these companies, a specialized agency from the neighborhood can offer a solution. It is nice to meet each other once in a while and discuss the improvement possibilities of the website together.

Search Engine Marketing and Optimization

It is also easier to assist your own web design agency in improving and building your website. Not only is it close to, often multiple customers can also be helped. This improves cooperation and tips and tricks can be implemented at multiple customers. Especially if the website builder uses his own CMS this saves time and money!

We do NOT explicitly build websites. We do this with our partners. View our partners or contact Slik Webdesign Rotterdam. We help you formulate your marketing objectives online, ensure that this can be measured and start working with you and your website builder to get higher in google and thereby sell more. So you stay with your own website builder, often we also improve the website at the back. This means that you do not have to build a new website. We also use Google Adwords. This means that you do not have to change anything about your website and you will get more visitors. Because we measure the results, we can substantiate with figures where the improvement points for your website are.

If you do search engine marketing and search engine optimization, it is good to have a targeted strategy. For many customers, it is a better strategy to target specific locations instead of the whole of the Netherlands. Many end customers continue to enjoy doing “local” business. Or at least in the neighborhood. Plumbers usually focus on the city where they are located. Others may be able to cover a larger area. Such as a supplier of safety products. It is always wise to know how big a place is.

Below the list based on Wikipedia how many inhabitants have different municipalities. You can use this in the targeting of search engine optimization and search engine marketing (Adwords)

Maximize Your Business’ Online Presence and Notice the Difference

SEO v/s Content Marketing Or SEO With Content Marketing: Which Is Better?

SEO-VS-Content-Marketing

Content marketing is an integral part of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Even a few years back, the technical aspects of SEO involved in optimizing a site for search engines were considered to be the primary focus for any SEO specialist. However, in today’s scenario, it is quite common for websites to have all essential elements of SEO firmly in place. Most SEO firms know these guidelines in and out. So, what makes a site more successful than the other? In other words, what decides the success and effectiveness of an SEO strategy or campaign over others? Well, the answer is content marketing. Leading Lebanon based SEO companies are devising SEO strategies driven by content marketing.

SEO-VS-Content-Marketing

Around 20 years ago, Bill Gates famously quoted, “Content is King”. It is a fact that content has always been a critical element of SEO and other online marketing strategies. It is more so in current times where search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, Bing, etc are giving more weight and preference to sites with high quality, relevant content. Through consistent output of awesome content, you can gain targeted traffic and high brand exposure. Content marketing is the proven way to differentiate yourself from the crowd and win traffic.

More and more SEO firms are diverting their time and energy towards content marketing rather than technical aspects of SEO. According to some recent reports published by B2BMarketingInsider.com, 90% of business organizations are indulging in content marketing, even if they lack a documented process. The reports also state that more than a quarter of a marketer’s budget is being spent on content marketing. The trend is highlighting two major facts that organizations have started believing in –

  • Technical SEO alone cannot help in attracting more traffic beyond a point. There is a standard level of achievement in terms of traffic and popularity that you can gain by following all rules of SEO.
  • Content marketing, on the other hand, can guarantee more results if done better than competition. After all, content is subjective and also involves creativity. Although everyone is doing it, the level of excellence and quality may not be the same for all.

So, does that mean that we should only focus on content marketing and leave all technical aspects of SEO aside? Well, the answer is a ‘no’. SEO and content marketing go hand in hand. In order to achieve maximum results from your online marketing strategy, both SEO and content marketing should feature in your strategy. This is what most reputed Lebanon based SEO firms are currently doing.

The total available time and effort must be distributed in a logical manner between technical SEO work and content marketing. Initially, all efforts must be diverted towards setting up the technical SEO and all its elements ranging from keywords to sitemap to site redesign to on-page optimization, etc. as per new search standards. Ensure to follow all guidelines so as to avoid Google penalties. Once the road is set, it’s time to focus on quality content marketing. Consistent and sustainable efforts are required for a successful content marketing strategy.

Both SEO and content marketing are important for your online success. Make a judicious mix of the two and ensure your success.
